Auto Ink, Chris Eckert, 2010.

Chris Eckert has created what appears to be a printer of tattoos and although it seems very original, does not equate to the professional level that can reach a human being, since perfection and creativity that a person does when making a tattoo, for now it is impossible for a machine get it. “Auto Ink” tattoo machine is controlled through a set of three-axis CNC.

Just as we choose a religion because of the circumstances of where we are born, this machine, arbitrarily determines a religion, which corresponds to a symbol. This symbol is tattooed on the arm of the operator, which has no control over the symbol has been assigned.

And here´s another old-skool one.

(Thanks Jasper!)

Together with Olaf Wit and Joris van Tubergen I designed and produced the Fendor-Bendor.
We used a laser cutter to produce a lot of prototypes until we had the perfect fix. The full story is here.
You can order or pick up yours at Pristine Fixed Gear, Amsterdam.

For many fixed gear riders, it’s a common problem: it’s raining hard… and you do not have fenders on your track bike, because you don’t like them. What to do?
Some buy mountain bike specific mudguards, others go for traditional fenders for which many track frames are not prepared. Many do not like both solutions and simply get very wet.
Actually, what we really want is a fender that is ONLY THERE WHEN YOU NEED IT. And that can be easily removed once the rain has stopped. This was the idea behind the Fendor-Bendor: a pliable bicycle fender, that can be placed in seconds, and removed just as fast. Once removed off the bike, it can be folded small and flat, so that it takes no room in your bag. All very simple and functional.
The Fendor-Bendor is made out of laser-cut PP foil, with folding lines. By using the folding lines in the length direction, the fender gets its sturdiness. It stays in shape by placing it between the seat stays of your frame, and folding it around the seat tube. By using the folding line in the middle, it can be folded in half.
The flexibility of the material works beautifully. If the Fendor-Bendor is hit by something, it simply flexes and gets back into its shape. This makes it a very robust solution, too!

COLORS: black, marine, white, grey, orange, ultramarine, red (red is rear-light empowering!)

Insane !
“Architect and programmer Michael Hansmeyer has undertaken a most ambitious project, designing an incredibly ornate and complex column with over 16 million individual facets! Hansmeyer has taken his initiative beyond the computer design phase and actually fabricated a full-scale 2.7 meter (8.8 ft) column made from stacked cardboard sheets. Check out the pics and information below for more details on this fascinating exploration.” (src: http://twistedsifter.com/2011/03/worlds-most-complex-columns )
